HASTINGWOODAccuro fundraiser-based charity Accuro hosted its first Murder Mystery fundraiser at the Manor of Groves Hotel, High Wych.

Guests were involved as the drama unfolded by acting in character roles and unravelling the plot to work out who had murdered Dr Dietler (aka Accuro CEO Arthur Steward).

The evening was hosted by Anthony Richards, of the Irregular Special Players, who gave his time free of charge.

As a special memento of the evening he presented every guest with a free short story book detailing the crime they had just solved.

One guest later emailed the charity: “Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed Friday night, it was great fun and good food too – shame about the dead guy next to me and the murderer opposite!”

The evening raised £766.85 which will be used to provide a broad range of support and activities for children, young people and adults with a disability and their families in west Essex.

Children and youth services include Parenting Support, Holiday Schemes, Youth Groups and a Saturday Play Club.

Adults with a disability are able to access Accuro’s Adult Friendship Scheme and The Community Gardening Project.

Further details of the projects, Accuro’s work, volunteering opportunities and future fundraising events can be found on the charity’s website www.accuro.org.uk.
