Politics / Tue 6th Jan 2015 at 04:11pm

PRESSURE on Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) increased today after figures showed another decline in the target for patients seen in A and E.

Only 77.6% of patients were seen within four hours of entering A and E. The national target is 95% and the national average is now 92.6%. Lat month, the A and E figure stood at 79%.

The performance is the worst quarterly result since the target was introduced at the end of 2004.

Other figures for the PAH are:

No of attenders at A and E: 1855 (down from 2000 on previous week)
Emergency admissions: 415 (down by 42)

How does PAH compare with other hospitals?

Darenth Valley: 91.8% (Down from 97%)
Basildon and Thurrock:90.2% (Up from 88.5%)
Whipps Cross: 81%
Queens Romford: 74.4% (Up from 67.4%)
Addenbrookes: 66% (Up from 61%)

The 111 campaigners have been working tirelessly to ask people to consider ringing the number first and to try as much as you can to avoid A and E.
