“Anyone who has attended a Herts and Soul concert will know that the music forms part of their big-hearted performance, with story-telling and laughter all adding to a fantastic evening out” – Herts and Essex Observer
Based in Bishop’s Stortford, under the dynamic direction of Royal Academy trained Josie Cowley, Herts and Soul is the 160 strong, go-to choir for singers of all ages and abilities who love to rock the community through fundraising concerts.

Herts & Soul will be celebrating their 5th birthday at the Playhouse by supporting St. Clare Hospice with a Valentine’s Day concert of love songs and dedications across musical ages and genres – from pop, rock and gospel to folk and musical theatre; some iconic, others more unusual, but all delivered with customary Soulster passion and pizzazz.

“Singing in a group connects you to something outside normal day to day affairs. Our Soulsters can vouch for the powerful experiences and friendships that can be shared together through singing. Taking to the stage at the Playhouse to raise funds for St. Clare Hospice – a wonderful institution which has played a role in many Soulsters’ lives – is another experience of which we can be proud” says Herts and Soul founder Chris Humphreys.
