LIBRARIES across Harlow will be celebrating National Libraries Day on Saturday 7 February. Visit your local library and discover the wide range of not just books, but magazines, online courses and advice services they offer. Sign up to become a member for free and have access to a variety of services at seventy four sites across the county.

County Councillor Roger Hirst, Cabinet member for Customer Services, Libraries, Planning and the Environment’ said, “This day offers visitors the opportunity to see the variety of services Essex libraries offer. One of these is access to e-magazines. There are a vast range of topics covered from cookery to crafts and from technology to travel, all available to members free of charge with an Essex Libraries card. They can be read on your computer or tablet and you can enjoy magazines in your local Essex Library, at home or on the go.

This service, and many more like it such as the Universal Class online learning, which offers over 400 courses, the yearly Summer Reading Challenge, and personal careers advice sessions demonstrate the variety of ways our libraries can support and develop Essex residents. ”

Make the most of what’s on offer and discover something new you can do at your local library.
