Refurbishment starts on Pets Corner

Communities / Mon 16th Feb 2015 at 01:11pm

PETS’ Corner is to close to the public from Monday 16 February 2015 to enable major refurbishment works of the facility as part of the Town Park-wide improvement programme to take place.

The refurbishments, which are part of a £2.8m investment to regenerate and renovate Harlow Town Park, will include a new events barn and Learning Centre to provide an enhanced education programme, as well as improved visitor access and better facilities for the animals. Arrangements have been made to ensure that all the animals are suitably rehoused or cared for whilst the building work is taking place and staff will continue to work during the closure to feed and exercise the animals.

Although there will be no access available to Pets’ Corner itself, the outside paddocks within the Showground will still be accessible to visitors where animals such as sheep, cows, llamas, goats, horses, reindeer are given daily exercise time.

The Council will provide the public with regular updates on the progress of these works throughout the project.
