Kick it Out contest provides freelance opportunities for aspiring journalists

Kick It OutASPIRING journalists can earn two paid freelance contracts in Kick It Out and The Football Supporters’ Federation’s joint competition.

Fans for Diversity, which is headed by Anwar Uddin of Dagenham and Redbridge fame, launched in March 2014 to encourage fan-led activity in promoting inclusivity, equality and diversity through the power of football.

The freelance contracts to be won cover submission of five written articles each worth £500 per person and include putting together comment pieces about Kick it Out and the FSF and reporting on Fans for Diversity events.

Winners will be assigned a mentor to provide advice and guidance and entries that don’t win will be considered for publication online.

Those wishing to enter need to send a CV and a 600-800 word comment piece focusing on the themes of diversity, football and fans and referencing the work of the Fans for Diversity campaign.

The competition closes on Friday 20th March and six candidates will then be selected for interview by a panel of judges which includes two newspaper journalists.
