HastingwoodNORTH Weald Bassett Parish Council has renewed its objections to proposals to develop land at the Harlow Gateway South site, off the A414 London Road at Hastingwood.

The land involved in the proposals is the former Ringway Jacobs site near the BP garage.

A planning application (EPF/2517/14) submitted by Anderson Design & Build & C.J. Pryor Ltd seeks part full planning permission for the development of ‘Plot A’ for B1 (business) and B8 (storage and distribution) purposes by C.J. Pryor Ltd and part outline planning permission for use of ‘Plot B-E’ for B1 (business) and B8 (storage and distribution) purposes.

The council’s planning committee on Monday decided to continue with its objection to the application however as Plots B-E had been removed from the application the council will, for the current time, remove its objection to Plots B-E.

Councillors have voiced concern that the Parish Council had been advised by the developers that the development of Plots B-E (in relation to planning applications EPF/2516/14, EPF/2517/14 & EPF 2518 /14) were all fundamental to Enabling Development.

The parish council is suggesting that the district council studies the Financial Viability Report in relation to all three applications.
