Harlow Town 3 v 1 Aveley

A RESURGENT Harlow Town took all three points in a highly entertaining 3-1 victory at the Harlow Arena.

Aveley should have scored in the first twenty seconds. Jack Stevenson sneaked past the flat footed defence but his weak shot went straight at keeper Andy Walker.

At the other end, Ahmed Deen did well to clear the ball off the line after good work by Junior Dadson.

Avery opened the scoring when a Theo Ola shot in the box was deflected off Joshua Urquhart and went in.

This was typical tentative start by Harlow that has hampered their promotion battle recently.

However, Harlow slowly found their way into the game, without really threatening the Aveley keeper.

But in the 23rd minute, Harlow were awarded a penalty when it was alleged that Junior Dadson was knocked over in the box. Dadson got off the floor to score.

The game opened up and in the spring sunshine, fans were being entertained by some cracking end to end football.

Harlow still looked very fragile at the back and even though a goal by Aveley in the 35th minute was chalked off for offside it still exposed the Hawks at the back.

Aveley play some classy football and the through-ball to Theo Ola by Billy Holland was a case in point.

The greatest frustration for Harlow was that Junior Dadson was making great inroads down the left but the strikers just couldn’t make anything when the ball came across.

Harlow had a great chance to score just before the break. David Cowley cleverly won space in the middle, slid it to Junior Appiah but he flashed it across the goal.

Avery started the second half the brighter with Jack Stevenson going close with a delightful chip.

The Millermen should have had a penalty when Ola was brought down in the box. The referee blew for a foul outside the area.

The chances were coming for Harlow striker Billy Jones but he just wasn’t able to convert.

However, was in the 61st minute when Fabion Simms rose high above the Aveley defence to put the Hawks in the lead.

The Millermen fought back but couldn’t really carve out the chances they were looking for.

Harlow Town made sure of the three points in the 95th minute with a great solo run and shot from Junior Dadson.
