COMMUNICATION between a Harlow primary school and its community is being boosted with a new website.
Members of the Freshwaters Primary Academy family can now access all information about the school, in School Lane, in any one of 90 different languages.
The new website – www.freshwaters.essex.sch.uk – went live this month after a complete overhaul and gives parents access to everything they need to know about the school and the work their children are doing.
The school is the first from the Burnt Mill Co-operative Academy Trust organisation to complete a revamp of its website. The other three Harlow primaries within the Trust – Roydon, Cooks Spinney and Little Parndon – plus Forest Hall School, in Stansted, will also benefit from new websites in the near future.
Marios Solomonides, head of school, said: “The new website demonstrates what we stand for and what we believe as a school community.
“It is easier to navigate and parents will be able to read it in any one of 90 languages, improving communication between school and home. In the past, parents have maybe not been aware of important meetings or educational visits because English is a second language for them. Now, we can be more confident that no pupil misses out because of a language barrier.
“The website has the very latest information about upcoming events, as well as photographs of all members of staff, helping families to put a name to a face and a face to a name.
“It’s a very exciting time for Freshwaters as our website will reflect the changes we have made since joining the Trust and will attract more families to our school and more potential excellent members of staff.”
The Trust has also launched a brand new website at www.burntmillacademytrust.org
