Politics / Fri 13th Mar 2015 at 11:33am

Halfon cakesTHE event gave MPs the chance to raise the profile of Red Nose Day by getting involved in the ‘Baking Competition’. MPs were asked to decorate a cupcake, with Ainsley Harriott, the celebrity chef, judging the best cake at the end of the day. The winner of the competition would have received funds for a charity in their constituency.

Robert made an Easter themed cake, featuring rabbits and carrots!

Although Robert didn’t win, he later commented that

“Even though I didn’t win, I really enjoyed taking part in the Red Nose Day Bakeathon, and hopefully it will have helped to raise even more money and raise awareness of Red Nose Day. Every year in Harlow, schools, businesses and residents all come together to help those in need of some support during Red Nose Day, raising a huge amount of money for charities at home and abroad, and every year I feel even more pride towards the successes they have achieved.”

The event, which was in the House of Commons, was organised for Red Nose Day, with the sponsorship of Sainsburys and Maltesers.
