Man arrested after incident at Stansted Airport

A MAN has been arrested following an incident outside Stansted Airport.

It happened just after 4.30pm on Friday, March 13. A green Ford Fiesta was driven into the security barrier outside Enterprise House in Thremhall Avenue. The man got out of the car and was arrested on suspicion of public order offences by police officers. The 21-year-old from Enfield is currently in custody at the police station at the airport.

The area has been evacuated as a precaution whilst the vehicle is searched. The airport is operating as normal and flights have not been suspended. However, trains will not stop at the station until the situation has been resolved.

Police are treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are continuing.
