Athletics: Harlow’s Chiassaro has sights on Rio!

Richard ChiassaroHARLOW Athletic Clubs wheelchair superstar Richard Chiassaro is in cracking form recently competing in the Swiss nationals in Notwill and the Daniela jutzeler meeting in Arbon. He achieved stunning personal bests in his events.

Richards 100m and 200m times rank him top 7 in the world listings.

Richard is currently aiming to get selection for the world championships in Doha around mid October this year and then he is setting his sights on the Olympics in RIO 2016!

The jet setting continues as Richard is heading off to Indianapolis on Sunday this week for the U.S. National championships and he hopes to improve on his times and world ranking there.

He commented “Im really happy with my performance in Switzerland as it was 31 degrees so it did take it out of me”.

Richard has been a leading light at HAC for many years and an inspiration to us all the club, we are so proud of his achievements!

Also Richard has won a silver medal with his basketball team, the Essex Outlaws, as they finished 3rd and are premier league and now have qualified for the euro championships.
