29th August 2015 League Home v Orsett

Harlow won the toss and elected to field

Result – Orsett won by 72 runs

HARLOW won the toss and put Orsett in on a damp wicket on a grey Saturday. Harlow opening bowler Nick Baxter struck immediately finding R.Plom LBW first ball of the game. He then went on clean bowl skipper and other opener Paul Bennett for 8. M. Akthar batted through to rebuild the innings by putting away the bad ball. Ross Vasani was brought in to the attack 20 overs in and put the pressure on immediately picking up the wicket of T.Haden (9). However Akthar was batting well and the skipper turned to Denis Perry for a lose shot, which Perry found instantly by having Akthar caught on the boundary for 78. Vasani then claimed another 5 victims to take figures of 6/48 of 16 overs. Leaving Orsett with 206 all out in 51 overs. In between innings, there was rain which delayed the restart. When play finally got underway, Harlow in reply lost both openers Hafiz Yawar (27) and Alan Jones to dubious LBW decisions, off the bowling of Karkosi, who also went on to pick up two more victims taking figures of 4/57 from his 14 overs. S. Khan picked up the wicket of the skipper Rehman Ahmed attempting to put his team back in the race but being caught at mid-off. There was no real resolve coming from the Harlow batsmen as they were then undone by leg spin of Akthar picking up 5/19 of 6.5 overs and winning the game for his team as Harlow were bowled out for just 134 from 40.5 overs.
