Pets Fun DayBy Louise Painter

ON Sunday 6th, there was an annual fun day at Pets Corner in the Harlow Town Park.

There were many stalls to help raise funds. The fun day was organised by Karen Mash and the ‘Friends of Pets Corner’ team.

The ‘Friends of Pets Corner’ (FOPC) group is completely self run and is operational purely by donations and volunteers with no help from the council.

The F.O.P.C. run the annual dog show and fun day as well as two other events through the year to raise money for pets corner. Karen Mash said: “We are here to get the community motivated.”

It was estimated that up to two thousand people enjoyed the day to join in the events or to just look.

The stalls ranged from a sweet stall, called sweetaloony, to a couple of pets corner supporters selling homemade cards.

Other attractions also included a bouncy castle and even face painting.

The dog show was the main attraction with many people coming to enter their pets or even just watch the show.

The dog show even had its own animal ambulance (5star), a mother and daughter run business, who were on stand by incase anything happened to one of the animals.
