Police appeal after man pretends to be Harlow Council worker in attempted fraud

ESSEX Police are releasing an efit image of a man they want to trace in connection with an attempt to obtain money from a woman in Harlow by fraudulent means.
A man attended the address of an elderly woman in The Hornbeams, Harlow, at around 3pm on July 15 purporting to be working for a company on behalf of the council and needed to check her drains.
He was permitted access to the woman’s house and attempted to open the drain cover without success. He rang the woman the following day attempting to get advanced payment for drain work which the woman refused.
Anyone with information on who the man is should contact Pc Paul Marks at Harlow police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
