IF you’re looking to get more exercise but don’t want to sign up to a gym, why not sign up to join one of the Council’s fortnightly health walks?

Health walks are held at 10am every other Friday, and are a great way to get fit and keep up with all the great work going on in the Town Park. The walks will use varied route to keep things interesting, and can be taken at your own pace.

So far the health walks have received a great response; they have enabled people to discover new routes around the park and meet new people whilst enjoying the scenery of the Town Park.

Health walks aren’t the only way to get fit in the Town Park; if you’re looking for a full-body workout you can take advantage of the highly popular outdoor gym. There are also free Fitpark sessions, organised by local business Stanley4Fitness, for everyone held on Saturday mornings from 8am to 8.45am and women-only sessions held on Wednesday mornings from 9.30am to 10.15am. All levels of fitness are welcome and there will be scaling options to ensure that residents get the right level of workout.
