LOCAL people are invited to see the winners of the first ever Best of West Awards unveiled at the Annual General Meeting of NHS West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on 24 September. The awards are set to take centre stage at the CCG’s second Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will take place at 2pm at the Resource Centre, Harlow Leisurezone, with a complimentary lunch available from 1pm. All are welcome to join us.

The AGM is also an opportunity to hear about the progress made in local health and care services over the past year, how local money has been invested and a brief preview of plans for the future.

The CCG’s first ever Best of West Awards celebrate the people keeping west Essex well including local volunteers, communities, health professionals and schools. After weeks of nominations and a gruelling judging process, certificates will be presented for 12 awards including the People’s Professional award, Volunteer of the Year and Best Health Education.

You can vote now for the People Professional’s Award and Best ‘Self-care selfie’ on the CCG website at www.westessexccg.nhs.uk. The full awards shortlist will be announced on the website on Monday 14 September.

Chief Officer of NHS West Essex CCG Clare Morris said: “This year we’re inviting local people to be part of our annual general meeting by voting to decide two awards, joining us to see the winners announced and submitting a question to the board if they’d like to.

“The year’s achievements on show at the AGM and detailed in the CCG’s annual report include treating 700 more older people in the community, engaging better with local people through the Sounding Board and strengthening the local system by working closely with partner organisations.”
