Athletics: Harlow juniors run out into the country

Harlow CrossHAC’s junior endurance squad got the cross country season underway in fine style on Sat 26th Sept at Hockley at the Essex County XC Relay Champs. HAC had 3 teams competing in the U13 boys, U13 girls and U15 boys. Each runner had to do a 3k leg and then hand-off to their team mate who runs the next leg. The races are 3x3k for each team.

In the U13 girls; Savanna Sirkett, Ellen Savidge and Charlotte Pratt finished in 5th place overall from 12 teams in a combined time of 42.18.

In the 13 boys; Pride of place for the day went to; Joe Morgan, Ronnie Edwards and Kai Boggon finished in 3rd place to claim a County Bronze medal in a combined time of 38.06 from 10 teams!!!

In the U15 boys; Lewis Harknett, Sam Collins and Owen Harknett claimed 5th place in a combined time of 35.42 from 12 teams.

Also, on Sun 27th Sept; Lewis Harknett, Owen Harknett and Zoe Rutter made then long journey to Sheffield City Centre to compete at the prestigious Junior Great Yorkshire Run over 2k on the roads.

In the U15 boy’s Lewis won the race in 5.43 with twin brother Owen taking a fantastic third place in 6.02 from a very large starting field.

In the girls under 15yrs race Zoe was a credible 5th in 6.44
