The Harlow/OAs Cluster is in it’s second year and the girls are developing well. The RFU Girls competition is area-based and aims to get three or four teams to the same Club to play in a round-robin format with each team being ‘placed’ at the end of the day. The next round then sends teams who have been similarly placed in round one to another Club to play another round-robin format of games and so on, with consistently highly placed teams going through into a National Cup Competition.

The U15s only played one game on Sunday because of two teams pulling out of round one of the Area Competition. The Girls beat Welwyn 43-22: Harlow players Olivia Duckmanton had a great game in her new position at second row; Rosie Bennett (prop) scored once; and Ellie Lennon (fly-half) converted four tries.

The U18s played three games in the first round of their Area Competition – lost one and won two. The first game was against Welwyn where they lost 7-30. They beat Ealing Grasshoppers 15-0, and finished the day winning 25-5 against Hitchin. Harlow’s Katie Boggas (flanker) scored one try and converted once.

Hertfordshire County Girls trials are this Sunday and Essex Assessments are on Monday 5th October: all four Harlow Girls will be attending.

Harlow Junior Girls train on Thursday evenings from 7-8.30pm – the session is open to girls aged 11 and over: Please contact Neil Boggas on 07944 422347 or Tracey Wedd on 07890 632238 or email [email protected] for more information.
