Athletics: Coulter double PB highlight of weekend

Martyn CoulterHARLOW Running Club members were out and about at the weekend at various races and produced several personal best times for the distance (PB). At the Bournemouth Marathon Brendon Maclean finished in 372nd place out of 1260 finishers in 3hrs 49min 22sec and Holly Nairn was 1260th in 4hrs 42min 08sec.

Meanwhile at the Bournemouth Half Marathon John Bull finished in 241st place out of 2954 finishers in 1hr 36min 13sec. He was followed home by Dionne Jones 324th and 1st Lady Vet 45 in an excellent 1hr 38min 55sec, Sandi Rust (437th in 1.42.51PB), Janice Page (1020th in 1.53.46), Debbie Barry (1163rd in 1.56.13), Michelle Hyde (1306th in 1.58.38PB), Dave Page (1434th in 2.00.39), Karen Moir (1560th in 2.03.08), Terry Pike (1564th in 2.03.17), Paula Coleman (1741st in 2.06.26), Alison Bull (1813th in 2.07.41), Joy Hale (2051st in 2.12.31) and Janet Webster (2419th in 2.22.16).

At the Bournemouth 10K Terry Pike, the day before running in the half marathon, finished in 333rd place out of 1440 finishers in a PB time of 51min dead.

At the Chester Marathon Andy Kinney finished in 2201st place out of 2287 finishers in 5hrs 29min 28sec, the day before he finished the Arrow Valley Parkrun 5K at Redditch in 133rd place out of 287 finishers in 26min 56sec.

At the Middlesex 10k at Victoria Park in Hackney Adrian Fell finished in 90th place out of 292 finishers in a superb PB time of 38min 23sec. He was followed by Alex Smith (108th in 39.05PB), Len Saterlay (133rd in 40.41PB), Sean Flynn (169th in 42.56PB), Sharon Wright (184th in 44.20), Martyn Coulter 222rd in 47.36PB), Alan Wellbelove (225th in 47.48PB), Robin Lozeau (228th in 47.51) and Faith Jackson-Lee (249th in 49.35).

At the multi-terrain Manuden 10k, near Bishop’s Stortford, Jamie Jephcott finished in 3rd place out of 93 finishers in 39min 58sec. He was followed by Jon Steadman (15th in 45.02), Terry Ridge (equal 24th in 48.16 with wife Catherine) and Peter Mills (63rd in 57.28).

At the Southend 10k John Tennant finished in 198th place out of 1311 finishers in 45min 36sec, with Paul Schroder (484th in 52.46) and Wendy Spring (544th in 54.21).

At the Harlow Parkrun 5K Ben Chitiyo was victorious in winning the event out of 112 finishers in a fantastic PB time of 18min 41sec. He was followed by Jared Bethell (4th in 19.55), Andy Terrell (6th in 20.25), Darren Tiley (10th in 21.13PB), Terry Ridge (16th in 22.05), Martyn Coulter (22nd in 22.59PB), Paul Dixon (25th in 23.21), Craig Clarke (39th in 25.23), Ron Newton (50th in 27.27) and Louise Kedge (52nd in 27.32).

At the Hatfield Forest Parkrun 5K Jason Haigh finished in 18th place out of 140 finishers in 21min 36sec and Justin Patten was 26th in 22min 46sec.

At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Austin Nyamande finished in 63rd place out of 121 finishers in a PB time of 28min 26sec.
