Take a look at what Rhodes has to offer….

This November, The Bishop’s Stortford Theatre at Rhodes has plenty of shows for the whole family to enjoy. Starting the month on the 1st November is Ballet Theatre UK with their beautiful re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fair-tale ballet, The Snow Queen.

This spectacular production follows the story of Gerda on her quest to find her friend Kay, whom the Snow Queen has placed under an evil spell. Gerda’s fantastic adventure takes her on a journey across the frozen north where she encounters a band of gypsies, enchanted reindeer and a mysterious and reclusive Lapland woman…

Following on from the ballet, our next show hits the stage with a bang! Ministry of Science is coming to Rhodes and warns the audience to keep their heads firmly on their shoulders, and arms, legs and feet inside the ride at all times as the Ministry of Science explodes on stage! This is not your ordinary science show – it comes with a band and a woosh, but most of all it comes with a hovercraft built on stage. Oh, and a Human Cannon too! This is definitely not a show to miss!

On the 7th November, Lyngo Theatre who previously brought you Jack and the Beanstalk and Puss In Boots, comes with this wonderful winter production, Snow Play. What would you do if one year Winter decided to stay around and move into your house? Well, that’s what happens in our snowy spectacular show where you are guaranteed a white Christmas, no matter what the weather or time of year! Snow Play is a showdown between Winter and Spring over who gets to stay and who has to go away. Help Mr Green against Mr White in this highly interactive smash-hot London production. You get to make a giant snowman, cover a whole house in snow and have a super snowball fight!

Finishing off the month on the 22nd November is I Believe In Unicorns. Come along and see this best-selling children’s author Michael Morpurgo’s treasured story brought to life. This intimate show is set in a library full of books that hold more than stories within their pages. I Believe In Unicorns sparks imagination in both young and old! Audience members are also invited to bring along a favourite children’s book to form part of the set and then to swap it at the end for another book.
