Athletics: Harlow put in the hard work at Hockley

Hockley on the 31st October 2015.

In the U13 girls 3k race;

Charlotte Pratt was 6th in 13.04, Savanna Sirkett was 7th in 13.05, Ellen Savidge was 21st in 14.52, Grace Malcolm was 25th in 15.00, Mackenzie Cranfield was 27th in 15.05 and Mari Malcolm was 38th in 16.35.

The girls took 4th place from 12 teams in the club competition.

Charlotte has been awarded Essex County selection for the SEAA InterCounties Champs at Biggleswade on the 12th December following this performance. Savanna will have to wait and see if she has done enough to impress the County Selectors.

In the U13 boys 3k race;

Joe Morgan was 6th in 11.51, Kai Boggon was 7th in 11.53, Ben Sloan was 14th in 12.21 and Sam Sloan was 21st in 12.59.

The boys took 2nd place in the team competition loosing out to Thurrock Harriers by just 1 point.

Joe and Kai have both been selected by Essex County to race at the above InterCounties match following these performances. Ethan Seal had to withdraw with breathing difficulties but was later cleared by paramedics.

In the U15 Girls 4K race;

Lottie Rowedder was 6th in 16.14, Zoe Rutter was 12th in 16.39 and Eilidh Malcolm was 33rd in 19.24.

The girls took 4th place in the team competition.

Lottie will have to wait and see if she’s done enough to impress the Herts County selectors.

In the U15 Boys 5K race;

Lewis Harknett faded towards to the end of the race after making much of the early running to finish in 6th place in 14.28, Owen Harknett was 23rd in 15.25, Sam Collins was 31st in 16.17 and debutant Jamie Putt was 39th in 16.56.

The boys took 5th place in the team competition.

Lewis was given confirmation of his his Essex County selection following the race.

In the U17 Women’s 5K race;

Rebecca Vears was 7th in 22.06.

In the U17 Men’s 6K race;

Christian Barker was 19th in 25.26.
