SwimTWO of Harlow Penguins’ young swimmers, 11-year-olds Carys Brealey and Alessandro Rioda, have been selected to attend an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) East Region Talent Camp.

These events form part of the overall approach to the development of the swimmer pathway in England.

Last weekend they attended the first of two sessions being held at Culford School in Suffolk, which are aimed at developing skills and knowledge and will be critical to the swimmers’ development as part of the UK’s performance swimming programme.

Carys and Alessandro are two of Penguins stars of the future and both are currently at the top of the UK rankings for their events.

Penguins head coach Martin Strnger said: “Achieving this success, both swimmers have the talent but ahead of them are lots of hours in the pool training.

“Both of the swimmers are part of Penguins Performance Pathway, which in conjunction with our academy are developing an exciting future for the club and as a result this year will send more swimmers to county championships than ever before.”
