Running: Bethell impresses at Chelmsford

HARLOW Running Club had four runners at the Chelmsford 10K on a cold and sunny
Sunday, perfect running conditions, and all of them recorded personal best times
for the distance (PB). Jared Bethell led the way in 11th place out of 541
finishers in a fantastic 34min 40sec. He was followed home by Paul Dixon (110th
in 42.54), Paul Schroder (231st in 48.06) and Wendy Spring (268th in 49.39).

Meanwhile at the Harlow Parkrun 5K Ben Chitiyo was once again victorious,
winning the event out of 56 finishers in an excellent 19min 55sec, despite the
cold and wet conditions on Saturday morning. He was followed by Martyn Coulter
(8th in 23.35), Terry Ridge (10th in 23.50), Anna Baker (14th and 1st Female in
24.46), Robin Lozeau (15th and 1st Vet 60 in 25.06), Alan Cootes (18th and 2nd
Vet 60 in 25.28), Catherine Ridge (22nd and 2nd Female in 26.07), Debbie Barry
(23rd and 1st Female Vet 50 in 26.11), Jim Bates (33rd and 1st Vet 70 in 29.27)
and Pushpa Mistry (38th in 31.56).

At the Hatfield Forest Parkrun 5K Janice Page finished in 34th place out of 85
finishers and 1st Female Vet 50 in 27.17. In 35th place and with the same time
was husband David and Joanne Mills was 64th and 1st Female Vet 65 in 32.15.

At the Norwich Half Marathon Will Wall finished in 299th place out of 2324
finishers in 1hr 36min 53sec.

Serial marathon runner Andy Kinney once again ran two marathons over a weekend.
On Saturday he ran the Maravan Day 1 Marathon, at Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire,
finishing in 26th place out of 28 finishers in 5hrs 38min 37sec. The next day
Kinney finished the Day 2 Marathon in 31st place out of 34 finishers in 5hrs
48min 37sec.

In a late result from the prevous week Jared Bethell completed the Marathon des
Alpes-Maritime, between Nice and Cannes in France, finishing in 16th place out
of 6605 finishers in a superb PB time of 2hrs 41min 19sec.
