Football: Harlow Town host Phoenix Sports in must-win game

HARLOW Town welcome ninth placed Phoenix Sports to the Harlow Arena in tomorrow afternoon’s crunch clash as The Hawks desperately try to keep their play off hopes alive.

Harlow come into the game on the back of a much improved performance against high flyers AFC Hornchurch on Tuesday evening, in which they managed to secure a point away from home in a 0-0 draw.

However, there is no let up for Danny Chapman’s men, who have struggled with the busy winter schedule, and now face Phoenix Sports who are unbeaten in their last four league games.

Harlow now sit in 13th position, and need to start gaining some consistency in their results if they wish to reach the play-offs. They are currently 11 points off 5th placed Bury who occupy the lowest play-off place. It has now become even more important that Harlow win their two games in hand in order to gain ground on the other play off hopefuls.

They will however go into the game with an unbeaten home record, with six wins and three draws so far this season. This will no doubt give Chapman’s side confidence they can pick up a result.

Phoenix have been in good form recently, and battled to a 3-2 win over Maldon and Tiptree on Tuesday. They are five points ahead of Harlow albeit having played six games more than The Hawks.
