A MAN has been charged after an elderly man was robbed of a few pounds in loose change.

A 76-year-old man was robbed while walking in an underpass between Church Road and Latton Common Road at around 7.30pm on Thursday, December 24.

Jason Blackham, 26, unemployed, of no fixed abode, was charged with robbery today, Monday January 18, and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.

He did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on February 15.
