Pyenest Road murder: Police given more time to question teenage suspect

DETECTIVES have been given more time to question a man as part of their investigation into the murder of a man in Harlow.

An 18-year-old man from North London was arrested in Edmonton on Friday evening. He has been helping officers with their enquiries over the weekend. Magistrates today granted officers an extension for him to remain in custody for a further 36 hours.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched a murder investigation last weekend. Hassan Abdi Mohamed, 48, from Harlow, was found collapsed close to Holly Field in the town at 10.45am on Saturday, March 5. He was found injured on a path that leads from Southern Way to Pyenest Road. He had been stabbed and later died of his injuries.

Police are continuing to appeal for information.
