Three charged following death of Jon “Panda” Aicken

THREE people have been charged with perverting the course of justice following a road collision in Roydon where a motorcyclist died.

The collision happened in the early hours of Wednesday, December 24 2014 in Tylers Road. Jonathan Aicken, aged 24, of Foldcroft in Harlow sadly died at the scene.

It involved a BMW car which failed to stop at the scene.

Police launched an investigation and arrests were made. Three people have now been charged with perverting the course of justice and will appear before Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 20.

They are: Richard Williams, 51, a service engineer from Homestead Road in Hatfield, Herts, Sally Beach, 27, a factory worker from Cherry Way in Hatfield and Lucy-Jane Williams, 27, unemployed, of Fillingham Way, Hatfield.

A 27-year-old woman from Hatfield has also been reported for failing to stop and failing to report offences following the collision.

A 45-year-old man from Waltham Abbey received a police caution for perverting the course of justice.
