Renewed appeal as arrest made over mugging of pensioner near Arkwrights

OFFICERS investigating the attempted robbery of an elderly woman in Harlow are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

A 69-year-old woman was walking from Harlow town centre along a cycle path in the direction of The Stow at 2.25pm on Monday, March 21.

The cycle path runs behind Arkwrights linking to Howard Way and she was approached from behind and had her handbag grabbed before being pushed to the floor causing her to fracture her hip.

On March 27 a 27-year-old woman from Harlow was arrested on suspicion of robbery. She has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until April 26.
