A HARLOW man killed himself shortly after being caught by a self-styled paedophile hunter.
Terry Hurford, 44, was found dead at his home in Harlow on May 31st.
Three days earlier Christopher Wood, also known as Catfish the Hunter, had filmed an encounter between the pair in Canvey Island reports a local newspaper.
At the time of his death Mr Hurford was on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of grooming.
At his inquest, coroner’s officer Malcolm Stewart told Chelmsford Coroner’s Court police were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Hurford’s death.
Coroner Eleanor McGann said she was “satisfied and sure” that Mr Hurford intended to kill himself due to his history of self-harm and the extensive notes he left behind.
Verdict: Suicide.
