Success for Harlow teachers in education awards

THREE Essex teachers have been recognised at Academy Transformation Trust’s first ever national Teaching Awards 2016.
Teachers from Kingsmoor Academy, Mark Hall Academy and Ravens Academy, which form part of Academy Transformation Trust (ATT), were recognised at The Trust’s much-anticipated Teaching Awards 2016, held last Wednesday 22nd June.
Academy Transformation Trust is a not for profit trust working with primary and secondary academies and further education providers in the Midlands, East of England and South East.
Hosted by best-selling author and educator, Professor Gervase Phinn, the ceremony brought together governors, teachers and pupils from The Trust’s 20 academies to recognise and celebrate the teachers’ achievements.
Nominated by principals, governors and pupils from both primary and secondary academies, teachers were awarded across 19 categories, including excellence in arts and creativity, international and languages, English, sport, pupil welfare, and innovation in learning and teaching.
Alev Ozten, assistant principal from Kingsmoor Academy received the PSHE award, while Jill Fowler, head of technologies at Mark Hall Academy won the Rising Star Award. Andy Bear, vice principal and year five maths teacher at Ravens Academy took home the Excellence in Mathematics award.
Corinne Franceschi, Principal at Mark Hall Academy, said: “Jill is an uncompromising professional who is totally solution focused and always pushes the students to achieve their best.”
Professor Gervase Phinn, said: “It has been an honour to host the Teaching Awards and award those teachers who have shown such commitment to pupils’ education and learning.”
