Harlow man charged with a large number of burglaries

A man has been charged with 18 offences connected to a series of burglaries and a police pursuit that ended after a car was driven the wrong way on the M11.
Jason Allnutt 47, of Tithelands, Harlow, was arrested near the motorway at Chigwell on July 7 after a car was followed by police from Valley Hill, Loughton to Chigwell Lane where it was seen to drive south on the northbound M11 at about 3am.
He was later charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance and having an invalid driving licence.
Allnutt was also charged with four offences of going equipped for theft on various dates in June and July and burglaries at 10 commercial premises also in June and July.
Four burglaries were at shops in High Road, Loughton, two in Pyrles Lane, Loughton, an Indian restaurant at Theydon Bois, a café in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, a dry cleaners’ at Station Way, Buckhurst Hill and a food shop in Holloway Road, Islington.
Allnutt was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday July 21).
