Appeal for witnesses after four Harlow men injured in road smash

ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road collision which happened in Roydon on Sunday morning, September 18 at 6am.

A silver Mazda containing four men from the Harlow area was travelling from Nazeing towards Harlow along Tylers Road when it was in collision with an articulated LGV travelling in the opposite direction.

The 35-year-old driver of the Mazda was taken to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries and his condition is described as stable.

A rear seat passenger, aged 45, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with serious injuries and his condition is described as critical but stable. Two other passengers were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow with minor injuries.

The lorry driver, aged 52, was uninjured. The road was closed for approximately eight hours for forensic scene examination and vehicle recovery.

Anybody who witnessed the collision or saw the Mazda being driven prior to the collision are asked to contact Pc Ian Tappin at Chigwell road policing unit on 101.
