St Mark’s: Year 6 Open Day a success
Education: Secondary / Fri 30th Sep 2016 at 04:37pm
There was a wide variety of activities taking place around the departments in which our visitors could participate, and many took the opportunity to do so.
Ordering a juice from the German café was popular as were the experiments and demonstrations taking place in Science. The English Department invited visitors to enjoy a very atmospheric extract from “An Inspector Calls” performed by Year 11 pupils and in Food Technology nobody left without a sausage roll, cupcake or shortbread biscuit to enjoy.
These were just a few of the activities on offer throughout the evening, which gave a flavour of the wide-ranging
opportunities available to St Mark’s pupils. Visits also took place in the morning to see the school “at work” and those who came were impressed by the calm, purposeful atmosphere in lessons
and around the school.
Pupils led tours of the school throughout the morning and evening and many favourable comments were made by visiting families about the confidence and politeness of the guides. Well done to all the staff and pupils who
worked so hard to make our Open Day a valuable, and enjoyable, experience for all our visitors.
