ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Harlow.

A 48-year-old woman was walking along Lower Meadow at around 9.30pm on October 1, when a man attempted to snatch her purse from her hand.

The victim screamed causing the suspect to run off in the direction of Maunds Hatch and Commonside Road.

He was described as being around 5ft 7ins tall and wore dark clothing.
