HARLOW Running Club members competed in the first race of the Metropolitan Cross
Country League held on a hilly 5 mile course at Claybury Park in Woodford. Rick
Ricketts finished in 341st place out of 472 finishers in a commendable 36min
24sec. He was followed home by John Tennant 389th and 2nd Vet 65 in 38.23,
Martin McColgan 422nd in 40.52 and Alan Cootes 436th in 41.41. In the Ladies
race over a 6K distance, Debbie Barry was 144th out of 180 finishers in 32min
49sec and Kerry Mavris was 153rd in 33.42.

Meanwhile at the Toronto Marathon Steve Jack, in his debut race for the club,
finished in 1337th place out of 3698 finishers in 4hrs 01min 23sec.

At the Harlow parkrun 5K Afewerk Rossom was first finisher out of 155 finishers
in a fantastic 17min 26sec. He was followed by Amaniel Tesfay 3rd in 19.29,
Daren Tiley 4th in 20.42, Terry Ridge 6th in 21.15, Craig Segal 9th in 21.28,
Catherine Ridge 14th in 22.45, Paul Dixon 24th in 24.30, Debbie Barry 48th in
27.24, Paul Schroder 52nd in 27.50, Terry Pike 58th in 28.31, Austin Nyamande
62nd in 28.38, Louise Cootes 74th in 29.37, Martin Elven 93rd in 30.54 and Alan
Wellbelove 97th in 31.11.

At the Hackney Marshes parkrun 5K Spencer Brooks finished in 53rd place out of
196 finishers in a personal best time for the distance of 22min 22sec, Graham
Saville was 54th in 22.31 and Andy Smith was 121st in 26.30.

At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Jamie Luck finished in 34th place
out of 146 finishers in 22min 17sec.

At the Enfield parkrun 5K Brendon MacLean finished in 29th place out of 164
finishers in 22min 52sec.

At the Ally Pally parkrun 5K Will Wall finished in 24th place out of 203
finishers in 22min 07sec.

At the Cambridge parkrun 5K Anna Robey finished in 126th place out of 463
finishers in 23min 50sec.

At the Hatfield Forest parkrun 5K Justin Patten finished in 56th place out of
195 finishers in 24min 35sec.

At the Royston parkrun 5K Brenda Clayton finished in 255th place out of 340
finishers in 31min 14sec.
