MORE people will bowl this week in Harlow than most other sports put together. A new league was started in Harlow last month and already one lady team member (Debbie Watkins) has scored the second highest score (220) ever bowled at Harlow Bowl since it opened in 1999.
Dave Pond, who lives in Harlow, became the tenpin bowling world champion at the age of 19 in 1968. Last month he was inaugurated into the British Tenpin Bowling Hall of Fame in recognition of his achievements during the late 1960’s.
