AT the beginning of October Harlow Playhouse launched their new café bar to provide an inclusive space for people to grab a coffee, meet friends, book tickets, see art, catch up on emails and for mothers to have a breast-feeding friendly place in town.
Situated on the first floor, you are first greeted with an assortment of wonderful baked goods, sandwiches and salads.
The food is supplied by local Award-Winning Mayfield Farm Bakery who has worked closely with Harlow Playhouse to develop a varied menu with gluten free options and healthy meals using top quality ingredients.
The café bar boasts a variety of break out areas including; the children’s area where there a games, books and even a little secret cinema for kids to watch DVDs; the working area where people can have meetings, sit down with their laptops and do work; the social area where people can get together have a coffee, piece of cake and relax.
Scott Ramsay the Theatre Director said “This innovative social space in the town really is there for people to use how they want. There are no time limit pressures and people are encouraged to stay and interact with the space whether it be for business or leisure.”
The Playhouse is looking to extend the offer to local groups, accommodate for birthday parties and to use the space for local events with the mind-set of being a local theatre for local people.
The Café Bar is open Monday to Saturday 10:30am to 5:30pm and one hour before any performance. If anyone would like to book an area within the café bar and look at food options for groups, please contact [email protected]
