HARLOW Running Club member Sharon Wright won the club’s Decathlon Performance of
the Month Award for November for achieving a new Female Vet 35 club record at
the Victoria Park Half Marathon.

Seven HRC members travelled to Club La Santa in Lanzarote to compete in the
International Challenge, consisting of four races in consecutive days. Day 1 was
the multi-terrain 10K Adventure Run, Darren Tiley finished in 40min 38sec, Rick
Ricketts in 41.15, Martyn Coulter in 42.44, Steve Mackenzie in 42.49, Steve
Ambrose in 44.02, Debbie Barry in 51.16 and Louise Cootes in 53.51. Day 2 was
the off road 13K Ridge Run, Rick Ricketts finished in 1hr 01min 54sec, Steve
Mackenzie in 1.03.02, Darren Tiley in 1.04.15, Martyn Coulter in 1.05.34, Steve
Ambrose in 1.09.33, Louise Cootes in 1.21.54. Day 3 was the 5K Beach Run, run on
soft sand, where Rick Ricketts finished in 22min 38sec, Martyn Coulter in 22.46,
Darren Tiley in 22.49, Steve Mackenzie in 23.48, Steve Ambrose in 24.29, Debbie
Barry in 29.47 and Louise Cootes in 31.08. Day 4 was the off road Half Marathon,
two loops around a volcano, where Rick Ricketts finished in 68th place out of
171 finishers in 1hr 38min 32sec, Darren Tiley 75th in 1.39.48, Steve Mackenzie
86th in 1.42.56, Martyn Coulter 105th in 1.47.19 and Steve Ambrose 118th in
1.51.28. The overall combined positions and times for those that completed all
four days were, Rick Ricketts 55th out of 154 finishers in 3hrs 44min 18sec,
Darren Tiley 60th in 3.47.28, Steve Mackenzie 73rd in 3.52.35, Martyn Coulter
84th in 3.58.21 and Steve Ambrose 98th in 4.09.30.

Meanwhile at the Bedford Half Marathon Colin Moody finished in 310th place out
of 978 finishers and 3rd Vet 65 in 1hr 42min 52 sec.

At the Singapore Half Marathon Andy Kinney finished in 3309th place out of 9307
finishers in 3hrs 06min 05sec. The previous day Kinney ran the East Coast
parkrun 5K in Singapore, finishing in 42nd place out of 60 finishers in 30min
11sec.

At the Harlow parkrun 5K Darren Tiley finished in 6th place out of 125 finishers
in 20min 45sec. He was followed home by Terry Ridge 10th in 21.54, Graham
Saville 24th in 23.22, Paul Schroder 25th in 23.22, Catherine Ridge 26th in
23.23, Martyn Coulter 33rd in 24.00, Martin Westley 35th in a personal best time
for the distance (PB) of 24.19, Spencer Brooks 53rd in 27.15, Louise Cootes 57th
in 27.30, Alan Wellbelove 63rd in 28.36, Austin Nyamande 65th in 29.04 and Jane
Evans 67th in 29.36.

At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K in Waltham Abbey Andy Terrell finished in 8th place
out of 152 finishers in a PB time of 19min 43sec and Jamie Luck was 32nd in
22.37.

At the Panshanger parkrun 5K in Hertford Sean Flynn finished in 35th place out
of 197 finishers in 22min 46sec.

At the Woodhouse Moor parkrun 5K in Leeds Andy Smith finished in 114th place out
of 361 finishers in 24min 28sec.

At the Hatfield Forest parkrun 5K David Page finished in 63rd place out of 163
finishers in 25min 58sec.

At the Long Eaton parkrun 5K in Derbyshire Debbie Smith finished in 132nd place
out of 310 finishers in 25min 59sec.

At the Romford parkrun 5K Brenda Clayton finished in 99th place out of 134
finishers in 29min 27sec.
