Harlow Town FC vs York City FC Match Preview

By Luke Henry

HARLOW turn their attentions towards the FA Trophy, this weekend as they welcome National League side York City to the Harlow Arena in what proposes to be a cracking cup tie.

Harlow will be looking to progress into the third round and knock out a second national league side after dispatching Eastleigh in the previous round 2-0, while York advanced via a 3-1 win against Worcester.

Going into this game Harlow are on the back of two draws kicking off the year with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Canvey Island with their latest coming in the shape of a drab 0-0 draw away from home against Wingate and Finchley.

Their opponents arrive in a dismal run of form, stretching back to the month of November, with one win in ten in the league, leaving them rooted at the bottom of the table.

This will be a difficult test for York even though they would fancy themselves against lower league opposition despite their poor form.

Harlow boast a very strong home record, only losing two home matches out of twelve, winning nine in the process at the Harlow Arena.

With the situation regarding Alex Read, the prolific striker who has ended in a transfer request which has been accepted from the club, it will be interesting to see if he is involved from the start after starting the last match before being substituted. Fabian Simms could be recalled after missing out altogether last week. For York, Danny Galbraith, Aidan Connolly and Richard Brodie all could be recalled to the starting 11 after being rested in the deserved 2-2 draw against high flying Dover Athletic.
