YEAR 7 pupils from St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School travelled to the O2 Arena this week to be part of the world’s largest children’s choir at the Young Voices event.

St M 02

Having learnt the repertoire of songs during the past few months, they joined over 4000 other pupils from across the UK to sing their hearts out. Young Voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance. Some of the professional performers joining in on the day were World Champions the Beat Box Collective and Urban Strides dance troupe.

Pupil Deborah Sarfo Anin, reports, “It was a lively, interesting day. The band, the dancers, and the beat boxers were really good. The whole experience made me feel alive. It felt like being part of a vocal orchestra.”

Pupils Mary Gibson and Michaela Bazaya report, “The guest stars were great. It was fun and energetic. From taking part we’ve learnt that if you put in the time to rehearse you can achieve your goals.”
