Running a marathon, to help broken families.Steve Jack

ON Sunday 7th May Steve Jack will run the 26.2 miles of the Halstead marathon, to support Freshwaters Contact Centre. Freshwaters helps parents stay in touch with their kids after a family break-down. It’s been running in Harlow for more than 20 years, and last year it helped 43 children from 29 different families.

Steve’s a member of Harlow Running Club and a regular at Harlow Park Run. He says “I’ve been a volunteer at Freshwaters for 7 years now, and I love what we do. It’s free for our guests, which is great because that means anyone who needs the centre can use it.”
“The marathon is not just to raise money, it’s also to let people know Freshwaters. We need volunteers, and we also want to make sure that anyone who needs a Contact Centre knows about us.”
