Athletics: Hynes is full of beans

HARLOW Running Club member Rich Hynes had to keep to a tight schedule on Saturday morning.


At 9pm he started the Gunpowder parkrun 5k at Waltham Abbey,
finishing in 3rd place out of 191 finishers in a personal best time for the
distance (PB) of 18min 12sec. Also running were Jamie Jephcott 15th in 20.53,
Andy Ramage 22nd in 21.35 and Liam Boylan 31st in 22.28.

Hynes then drove the short distance to Chingford where he made his debut in a 5
mile race, the 10pm start Orion Forest 5, where he finished in 44th place out of
177 finishers in 34min 13sec. He was followed by Sean Flynn 81st in 38.47,
Debbie Barry 115th and 3rd Female Vet 55 in 43.29, Louise Cootes 124th in 44.39
(PB), David Page 127th in 45.00, Janice Page 138th in 46.54 and Austin Nyamande

Meanwhile at the Dorking 10, an undulating 10 mile race through the Surrey
countryside, Andy Kinney finished in 441st place out of 464 finishers in 1hr
42min 57sec.

At the Harlow parkrun 5k Danny McCree was 1st finisher out of 181 finishers in
19min 12sec. He was followed home by Darren Tiley 3rd in 19.48, Greg Goodey 4th
in 20.00, Andrew Kitson 8th in 21.10, Martin Westley 16th in 22.12, Darren
Rautenbach 23rd in 23.02 (PB), Graham Saville 27th in 23.21, Spencer Brooks 28th
in 23.28, Paul Dixon 30th in 23.46, Peter Ayling 35th in 24.22, Jim Bates 51st
in 26.12, Chris McCarthy 56th in 26.29, Andrew Smith 60th in 26.41, Martin Elven
64th in 27.02, David Morley 74th in 28.02, Alan Wellbelove 101st in 31.28 and
Pushpa Mistry 103rd in 31.31.

At the Windermere parkrun in Cumbria Daniel Jephcott finished in 9th place out
of 278 finishers in 18.58.

At the Roding Valley parkrun Martyn Coulter finished in 10th place out of 132
finishers in 21.05.

At the Hatfield Forest parkrun Justin Patten finished in 53rd place out of 294
finishers in 24.10 and Peter Mills was 149th in 28.37.

At the Milton Keynes parkrun Kerry Mavris finished in 71st place out of 344
finishers in 24.52.

At the Hornchurch parkrun Rachael Morris finished in 42nd place out of 113
finishers in 26.02.

At the Hatfield parkrun Andy Kinney finished in 142nd place out of 213 finishers
in 29.29.

At the Mersea Island parkrun Brenda Clayton finished in 62nd place out of 102
finishers in 29.57.
