Harlow v Dulwich

Boston North

Harlow Town 2 v 3 Dulwich Hamlet

TWO goals in the last six minutes saw Dulwich Hamlet make a great fightback against Harlow Town at the Arena on Tuesday night.

Dulwich had Harlow under pressure from the first minute when Dumaka forced a fine save from Patrick Lee but Ibrahim Kargo was able to score at the far post from the corner.

This is a Dulwich team packed with star quality and is many a person’s tip for promotion.

However, Harlow are also a class act and so it was no surprise when Syrus Gordon scored with a belter from just inside the box.

This was entertaining but there was also plenty examples of shoddy defending.

The half settled down. Hamlet had their half chances but it was Harlow who started to play more measured, assertive football. When Alex Read scored from close range in the 30th minute, it was no more than the Hawks deserved.

Harlow should have made it 3-1 but it was Charlie Dickens who scuffed his close range effort.

But Dulwich were still dangerous and their slick passing gave Ashley Carew a chance in the 40th minute.
Two minutes later, great skills by Nyren Clunis again showed that Dulwich were a potent attacking force.

Dulwich Hamlet came out storming in the second half and it was only due to the shot-stopping qualities of Patrick Lee that they were holding on to their lead.

But Harlow weathered the storm and carved out chances of their own.

It became a tight second half and although a lot of the chances went to Dulwich you couldn’t say they were carving out gilt edged chances. That is until 83rd minute when sub Mohammed Faal bundled the ball hoe form close range.

Harlow’s sub Tommie Fagg nearly scored the winner with a screamer from outside the box but it was brillantly parried away by Preston Edwards.

There was heartache for Harlow Town when Muhammad Faal scored from a breakaway in the 90th minute.
