HARLOW Running Club fielded 16 runners at the Essex Half Marathon Championships
held on an unseasonably warm and sunny Sunday Morning at Pleshey, near
Chelmsford. Performance of the day went to Carinne Jay who finished in 144th
place out of 434 finishers and 3rd Female Vet 45 to win the bronze medal in her
age category in 1hr 41min 06sec. First home was Rich Hynes 78th in 1.31.12
followed by Sharon Wright 92nd in 1.33.37, Alex Smith 94th in 1.33.57, Adrian
Fell 96th in 1.34.28, Martyn Coulter 118th in 1.37.39, John Bull 143rd in
1.40.50, Martin Westley 150th in 1.42.19 (PB), John Tennant 174th in 1.45.32,
Jamie Jephcott 237th in 1.52.41, Debbie Barry 248th in 1.53.28, Graham Saville
266th in 1.55.00, Pasquale Pellecchia 272nd in 1.55.26, Spencer Brooks 279th in
1.56.16, Martin Elven 310th in 2.01.45 (EQ PB) and Andrew Smith 2.08.43 in his
debut at the distance.

Meanwhile at the Robin Hood Half Marathon at Nottingham Janice Page finished in
2691st place out of 6149 finishers in 2.05.12, Debbie Smith was 2798th in
2.06.46 and David Page 2953rd in 2.08.55.

At the Hull Marathon Paul Watts finished in 484th place out 857 finishers in
4.24.17, a PB by over 38 mins.

At the Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile race at Newcastle Andy Kinney finished in
148th place out of 155 finishers in 1.45.44.

Several runners ran parkruns on Saturday morning, including some that competed
in races on Sunday morning.
At Harlow parkrun Ben Chitiyo was 1st finisher out of 171 finishers in 19.32. He
was followed home by Danny McCree 2nd in 19.45, Andy Terrell 5th in 20.32, Ryan
Smith 7th in 21.01, Graham Saville 44th in 25.49, Jim Bates 54th in 26.39, Holly
Nairn 59th in 26.59, Kerry Mavris 66th in 28.04, Jeff Mace 69th in 28.31, Debbie
Barry 70th in 28.32, Andy Smith 78th in 28.50, Pushpa Mistry 81st in 29.05, Alan
Wellbelove 102nd in 30.25, Melanie Harris 118th in 32.36, Julie Bradley 121st in
32.55 (Debut), Andrew Kitson 159th in 42.08 and Sara Coombe 165th in 46.48.

At Hatfield Forest parkrun Afewerk Rossom was 1st finisher out of 424 finishers
in a PB time of 15.59. He was followed by Owen Haigh 7th in 17.52 (PB), Jason
Haigh 36th in 20.25, Justin Patten 100th in 23.05, Saira Muschamp 138th in
24.22, Martin McColgan 139th in 24.23, David Page 162nd in 25.38, Alan Cootes
168th in 25.55, Janice Page 281st in 29.48, Martin Elven 360th in 33.51 and
Celia Haigh 364th in 34.07.

At Hertford parkrun Sean Flynn finished in 54th place out of 269 finishers in
23.31.

At Durham parkrun Paul Dixon finished in 97th place out of 271 finishers in
26.41.

At Burnham-on-Crouch parkrun Brenda Clayton finished in 31st place out of 63
finishers in 28.45, a new Female Vet 70 Club Record.

At the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey Martyn Coulter finished in 95th place
out of 179th finishers in 29.25.

At Worksop parkrun Andy Kinney finished in 166th place out of 285 finishers in
31.05.
