Livewire set to perform as part of Harlow is 70 celebrations

Entertainment / Fri 29th Sep 2017 at 03:54pm

FOR the first ever time Livewire will take to the main stage of The Harlow Playhouse with it’s own devised piece of theatre ‘Our Town, Our Future’. As part of the ‘Harlow is 70’ celebrations, the play examines the future of our town over the next 70 years. Our Town. Our Future explores what would happen to Harlow if the Arts and Community groups continue to be under funded and closed down.

Sam Ashford, Creative Director for local charity Livewire “This is a major opportunity for our young people to show our town what we can do; to engage our community in a discussion on how we want our town to develop in the next 70 years. We are delighted that The Harlow Playhouse have invited us to perform and have offered so much support. We are also proud to be part of the Harlow is 70 celebrations and look forward to showing our town what Livewire is all about”.

Leo Sheppard 16 a Livewire member “Livewire changed my life, it has given me somewhere to go where my confidence has grown and I have found who I am. I can’t wait to perform with Livewire at The Playhouse, it’s such a fantastic show with great dance and music too!”.

The performance takes place on the 12th October at 8pm. Tickets are £5 and can be bought via the Harlow Playhouse website. Livewire is always open to new members. We never charge any fee as we believe that the arts should be available to everyone. If you would like to find out more then please visit www.livewiretheatre.co.uk
