A Senior Crime Scene Investigator went above and beyond the call of duty to help local officers locate a missing woman.
Ryan Howell, based in Harlow, was in his office on Sunday, November 5 when he heard on the local policing team’s radio channel that they were searching for a missing vulnerable woman.
Without hesitation, Ryan stepped in to help his colleagues. He combed the local area in one of our unmarked CSI vans and spotted the woman shortly after.
He parked up and approached the woman cautiously to reassure her that he was there to help.
The pair walked back to the van so Ryan could take her back to her family and local officers who took her to get the help she needed.
Ryan said: “Although I’m in a different department, we’re all part of the same team and I’m always happy to help officers out. I’m pleased that the woman is now able to get the help she needs.”
Detective Inspector Rob Staples also assisted with the search alongside local officers and praised Ryan for his quick thinking and willingness to help. He said: “We’re very fortunate to have a great group of people operating out of Harlow working together as one team. I’m really pleased we were able to help this young lady today.”
