Windy Hill

ESSEX Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Magdalen Laver.

It happened at around 12.40pm yesterday (Sunday, November 5) in Wind Hill.

The collision involved a cyclist and a white car, believed to be a Volkswagen Scirrocco, which failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries

Officers are particularly keen to find and speak to the driver of a black or dark coloured car, which we think was a Mini, which was immediately behind the white car.

A 28 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and assault.

He has since been released under investigation.

If you think you are the driver of the dark coloured car, have any dashcam footage of the incident, or have any other information, please contact Essex Police on 101 or email [email protected].
