Passmores Chelmsford

NINE year 9 Citizenship students participated in the Essex Youth Assembly development conference at Chelmsford Race course where they learnt debating skills, debating about issues such as funding cuts to local services.

They also planned a campaign to do with lowering the voting age to 16, raising awareness about mental health and making young people aware of how they can gain work experience.

The students were also able to question members of Essex County Council. The students were enthusiastic and really engaged in the day and this will help them with taking Practical action for their GCSE Citizenship studies.

Also at the conference were students Rosa and Bethany who are members of the Essex Youth Assembly. Both girls were involved with facilitating the day.
