Passmores U14 Girls smash it in eight goal thriller!

Sporting success of Passmores teams continues with another win

The Girls’ U14 football team played an away match against Frances Bardsley Academy in Romford last Wednesday (22nd November), in a bid to win a place in the quarter finals of the Essex Cup.

In a strong start to the match, Passmores was first to score. But the opposing team fought back to equalise and kept the pressure on throughout the game. With one Passmores goal being disallowed and the result at full-time resting at 3 all, team coach Miss Conway and the players knew a change of tactics would be necessary to secure a win during extra-time. The final score was 3-5, with goals being scored by four separate players: Gracie, Connie and Lauren who scored one goal apiece and Charis, who scored twice. The girls demonstrated outstanding teamwork but it was Gracie who was named Player of the Match.

Midfielder, Maisie said, ‘Miss Conway told us before the match that this team had never been beaten, so we were a bit worried. But we just went out and played our best. We’re really excited to play in the next round’.

This is the same dynamic team who battled through to the U13 quarter finals last year, narrowly losing out in the latter stages of the competition. They have returned this year more determined than ever to scoop the win. Passmores are keeping their fingers crossed for the team in the next round.
